Welcome To Week 5!

This weeks material is very interesting. CSS is again the main language used in web design for Positioning, Page Layout, and for Data Tables. The positioning of material on your site is crucial for the overall flow of information. The layout of the page is of utmost importance because if your site is not organized and structured correctly it will quickly confuse the user/visitor and cause them to either leave the page or not come back. Data Tables allow for the user to view information in a central area (in a table) and see all the information in a more organized and visual structure.
For this week, remember that we have both a discussion on layout and an assignment involving images on your page(s). Please check that outand let me know if you have any questions.
Read the text along with the lecture to research Positioning, Page Layout and Data Tables and how they apply to building a web site. Also feel free to use internet resources to support your discussion. If you copy and paste from a source, you must use direct quotes; however, direct quotes should be used SPARINGLY, if at all. Paraphrase instead. Be sure to cite your sources using APA style, even when you paraphrase.
1. Discuss positioning in web design and the ways that you might place or position elements on a page.
2. Explain how you would add gutters between the columns of text and why this is important to developing a quality and visually appealing web page.
3. Discuss the various components of the concept of property in web design, detail the elements that comprise property, and explain which elements will support or ignore the values of property.
4. Discuss the box model with CSS and how this is different from constructing tables.
