Marketing has undergone major shifts and changes in its use and role in management. Based on your readings and the You Tube video, discuss the following:
1. What are the core concepts that underlie the discipline of marketing?
2. What are some themes you note about the major shifts in marketing? Analyze the pros and cons of these shifts.
3. Describe the relationship between strategic management and marketing. Provide some examples.
4. Consider how biblical principles may apply in the discipline of marketing.
In order to receive full credit, participants must post an initial response by 11:55 p.m. on Wednesday and responses to at least two classmates and faculty by 11:55 p.m. on Saturday. Each posting should be substantive and comprehensive. Responses must be at least three to five sentences in length and add value to the discussion. Integrate biblical perspectives in the context of the discussion.

1. In your company (past or present), what types of market research are/ were used? Which ones proved more effective and why? Did they use CLV philosophy?
2. What are the factors that must be considered when selecting market research approaches or techniques?
3. Reviewing Intuit’s choice (pp. 120-121 of the text), how did they use customer research and why did it work so well for them? How should Intuit gauge the results of its research among younger consumers with mobile devices?

This is an individual assignment: After reading the assigned chapters (1-4), review p. 51 (strengths/weaknesses).
1. Copy page 51 of the text and apply these internal S/W to your current organization (or any other organization of your choice). This SWOT analysis can be conducted on the organization that you select for your Marketing Plan assignment.
2. Conduct a similar review for opportunities & threats – O/T. You will have to make up your own categories for this.
